how to embrace a slow summer.
Welcome to the Slow Morning Newsletter, a weekly letter where I share slow living resources and insight into my personal journey.
Welcome, summer. Welcome long evenings, ripe fruit, always wet hair, poolside sandwiches, never being home. Summer used to be my least-favorite season. I’d actually go so far to say that I abhorred it by entire adult life. But the past few summers have revitalized a bit of childlike joy that I tend to associate with good summer nostalgia. That’s thanks to seasonal slow living.
I talk about seasonal slow living a lot, I know. Wouldn’t you, if it helped you find a way to enjoy every month of the year in a unique, yet simple way? All it takes is embracing the season for what it is. Celebrating the season in ways that resonate, that bring you joy. I firmly believe we should all be learning what those celebrations look like to us. The rest of this letter will help you with that.

summer bucket list.
You all know I love a seasonal bucket list, so I couldn’t write about summer without including some items from my own bucket list:
camping/glamping
grilling something new (peaches, pizza, zucchini)
have a beach day, volleyball included
try a new ice cream flavor
hide in an air conditioned library
(I have plenty more ideas here)
summer joys.
Like I said, these past few summers have taught me what I love most about the season. Here’s my list of little summer joys:
soaking in the pool on a balmy afternoon, paired with a good read and poolside sandwiches.
making s’mores over a fire on a cool evening.
summerween!!
harvesting peppers from my backyard garden.
enjoying my morning coffee out on the back deck.
grabbing a pint of strawberries at the farmers market.
slow mornings at the farmers market.
On the first day of this summer, my business went live with slow mornings at the farmers market, a stationery line inspired the season, abundance, and the little joys of strolling around the market. My youthful love for summer just might have come full circle.
